At last in Norway! Our #Erasmusplus project #HEY resumes its activities after the pandemic with the staff-training mobility in the upper-secondary school Greåker videregående.
On the 1st day, we had a very warm welcome by our beloved hosts Martin and Margareth and an opportunity to reunite with our partners from Greece, Cyprus and Croatia. We started the 1st day with an invigorating and delicious breakfast made by Øystein S. Levinson's class of English language and culture. Afterwards, the students broke the ice with some games about Norwegian culture that tested our abilities in remembering weird words. So long expected!! On the second day in #Fredrikstad, we paid a visit to the local library to enjoy several lectures. The first one was given by the Vice Mayor of the city and it was about Fredrikstad history and its new developments. The second one was given by the amazing Erik Lindbæk Kruse who is a social worker so committed to integrating young people with a conflictive background and extremist behaviour. Inspirational and so challenging! After lunch, we took a tour around old Fredrikstad awesomely guided by Lars Thoresen, a passionate teacher of history in Greåker. A nice “Yule” concert, organised by the music students, took place at the #Fredrikstad Cathedral to wrap up the day nicely. On the 3rd day in Norway, we spent the whole day at Greåker. We attended several lessons there: History/ English with Simon F. Lerfald-Hansen (using the debate as a powerful tool to train the students in critical thinking), Spanish Language "en la clase de Marte Skauen" (Maria and I were somehow heralds of the Spanish Christmas) and an inspirational workshop was given by Janne Johansen about new ways of non-grading assessment. We wrap up the afternoon with an awesome workshop about how to address controversial topics, conducted nicely by our little jewel Željka (the most desired) and enriched by Simon F. Lerfald-Hansen. We ended a bit exhausted because we really got into it. Eventually, the last days of our mobility in Norway were dedicated to attending some lectures at Østfold University College, in #Halden. The first was delivered by professor Anders Eilertsen “Critical reading, selective perspectives and some tools”, focused on how to train the students to read between the lines when it comes to understanding news and adverts. Afterwards this enlighted workshop, we visited professor Espen Wilber’s Future Classroom Lab, which was full of inspirational educative materials. Our last day was dedicated to visiting Oslo and its 22nd of July memorial. We remembered there the victims of the appalling terrorist attack that shocked not just Norway but the whole world. The first day we had been watching a Netflix film about the attack and it was a moment of shared sadness and to support our Norwegian friends. Afterwards, we headed to the outskirts of Oslo in Roseslottet to enjoy a stunning snowy landscape where we enjoy the local customs of warming up marshmallows by the fire. A perfectly managed mobility organised by our gorgeous hosts Margareth Kristine and Martin Aleksander, It’s has been indeed an unforgettable experience for all of us. Have you ever wondered how the history of Europe does sound? In this workshop, you are going to watch, and almost touch, the European music. Enjoy the music and live your life surrounded by science! |
