12.15 – 1.45 p.m. Sport game played around the city with an online app, a Geo catching app . You use mobiles and try to answer the questions you find in different spots of the city. The game is social because you move in small international mixed teams of students.
2 p.m. Visit to the volunteering place of Juhani Aho project pupils. It is Ilvolanpirtti, home and meeting centre of old age people situated just in the neighborhood of Juhani Aho school. Welcoming music. Coffee, tea and juice and snacks. Introducing the home by the project companion working in Ilvolanpirtti, Marjut Pääkkönen. Finnish pupils in pairs told what they had done with their old aged friend during the two years’ visits and meetings. There has been also gatherings with all the aged friends living in Ilvolanpirtti and the pupils and teachers taking part in the project. There have been gatherings two times in autumn and two times in spring term. Some snacks and discussion about different topics. Old people have told about their childhood and youth in these common meetings. Also the visitors told what kind of voluntary work they have carried on in the project. This was translated into Finnish for the aged Ilvolanpirtti residents. Some of the problems in Finland the isolation , loneliness and laziness among students because they don’t have to fight for a living. The government will cover their needs
We visited Koljonvirta Manor. A walk in historical sights of Koljonvirta dating back to Finnish war in 1808-1809. Playing mölkky outside in the court yard. Mölkky is a physical game, you use and throw wooden sticks and the students played it in mixed groups .
