European Schoolnet is a network of 30 European Ministries of Education, bringing innovation in teaching and learning to its key stakeholders: education ministries, schools, teachers, researchers and industry partners. Created by European Schoolnet, the Future Classroom Lab is an inspirational learning environment in Brussels, challenging visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design un their classroom.
I would  like my school to be a place where the students can develop skills and attitudes that combine elements such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, imagination and inventiveness. This on- site course led the participants to reflect on how to nurture creativity in students and how to teach creatively
We explored a range of (ICT) tools strategies for this, such as content creation, digital storytelling, flipped classroom, augmented reality, content curation, etc.
The course was designed to enhance the joy of learning and for those teachers who want to learn how to create innovative learning content and who want to network with like-minded peers.

Learning objectives of the course:

 enhance standard educational materials with creative tools and applications
 implement the design thinking process in their teaching practices
 design their own learning materials for flipping the classroom
 create digital storytelling activities
 gamify classroom activities
 use emerging technologies (AR, VR, QR codes) to create activities for interdisciplinary learning
 use social media for teaching and professional development
 learn how to curate digital content.

The first day, after some ice breaking activities, we got familiar with the Future Classroom lab learning zones. After that we started working on our Community Learning Platform (Schoology.com) and had a view on the Summer Academy Blog. The Learning Community platform could be very useful for designing virtual classrooms. The blog, on the other hand, complements the virtual classroom and is a very enriching way to disseminate the results in the rest of the educational community.
We were aware of the differences between our traditional classroom and the classroom of the future. If we want the student to be the builders of his own learning, they have to work in a collaborative and creative way so we have to design innovative spaces and make posible flexible learning among them, which involves organizing our classroom differently.
At the same time, with the creative challenges of the day, we could encourage active learning among the students. We performed several "treasure hunts" with ICT tools in a collaborative way: Gif creator, how to create a Scavenger Hunt, Space Race, B- selfies, etc. Exciting and highly motivating.
During the first day I also presented my two creative proposals: storytelling with wooden & virtual story-cubes  , with the application Story Dice/ Story Cubes. Have a look at this link for more information about it: consaburuminternationaloffice.weebly.com/getting-out-of-my-confort-zone-innovation-corner/escritura-creativa-con-story-cubes-gamificacion

I introduced the ICT tool "Fakebook", from classtools.net too. It consists of an app  to create a personal profile on a  similar page to Facebook of some relevant historical character, or even inanimate objects such as a bacterium, a cell, etc.

Have a look on the first day video to get the whole idea of each sessions:

To celebrate the end of our first day, my colleagues Arrate (Vasque country ) and Educardo (Campo de Criptana School's Headmaster) joined me in a stroll around Brussels. We had fries, street music and also we paid a visit to Ms. Janneke Pis. Not as famous as her male fellow but quite funny indeed!
