Our teachers of Counselling Department, Patricia Gomez (Special Needs Education) and Pilar García (Social Sciences) have created a KAHOOT contest about the European Union, which will be held on the Day of Europe , on May the 9th. Students for Special Education Classroom and from 2nd grade will participate in the contest in mixed groups made by students from different levels of ability. We are willing to join in the contest and learn more about the European Union! #DayofEurope #EuropeForCulture
One of the activities for the Erasmus+ KA219 Project "We want to volunteer to make the world a better place" has been designed by teacher Ana Feli Torres Miján, Teacher of ICT &Technology. She has created a QR codes Gymkhana about European Scientists and inventors. One of the activities planned for the mobility in Spain is this innovative contest in which the students will cooperate in mixed groups from different countries. They will follow each clue hidden in QR codes in order to win the Gymkhana while they are learning facts about European inventions and discoveries though their smartphones. EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES: AUGMENTED AND VIRTUAL REALITY
The AR and QR codes are present in almost every aspect of our daily life: busline maps and timetables, museums, monuments, etc. We also considered a matter of need that we have to start using them at the school, as a motivating tool for the students. We have at our disposal apps for chemistry formulation, human anatomy, applied to the field of arts, science, etc. They are quite interesting to attract the attention of the students and they are also easy to handle.
Furthermoer, QR codes can be used by the students to investigate a specific topic or as incentives when they have fulfilled a task (because they are unexpected and surprising ).
We also started in the programming language with Scratch and Aurasma

But everything comes to an end. It's time to say goodbye Brussels. Hopefully I'll see you again!
etwinning is my passion!
Happy 4th of July, States' friends!
Today we learnt Creation of Digital Contents and ICT Tools for the organization (curation) of digital contents
In this session we were given ICT guidelines and tools to organize our favorite digital content with applications such as diigo, feedly, symbaloo, listly, etc. We were also given criteria for selecting internet information that may be of interest to our educational work. They also encouraged us to create a Personal Learning Network and keep us updated through social networks.
During Design Thinking Session, we designed learning spaces that stimulate creativity. That part is which I liked most, because from my point of view, teachers must to promote atmospheres and enviromnents that stimulates learning. It could be like a play or a movie. The scenario, the soundtrack, and the effects are even more important than the script because they provoke feelings and emotions in the audience.
With the suggestive Bart's quote "an app a day keep the burn-out away ", he encouraged us to go outside our comfort zone and create innovative educational contents with ICT. In every Design Thinking process there are several phases, which include identifying needs, designing learning spaces and elaborating prototypes that keeping up with 21st century society. We understand teaching as a whole, not just focusing on the transmission of content.

Peer- learning with views!! Oficial course dinner .The day ended with a wonderful dinner in a restaurant on the 9th floor with breathtaking views of Brussels.
European Schoolnet is a network of 30 European Ministries of Education, bringing innovation in teaching and learning to its key stakeholders: education ministries, schools, teachers, researchers and industry partners. Created by European Schoolnet, the Future Classroom Lab is an inspirational learning environment in Brussels, challenging visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design un their classroom.
I would like my school to be a place where the students can develop skills and attitudes that combine elements such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, imagination and inventiveness. This on- site course led the participants to reflect on how to nurture creativity in students and how to teach creatively
We explored a range of (ICT) tools strategies for this, such as content creation, digital storytelling, flipped classroom, augmented reality, content curation, etc.
The course was designed to enhance the joy of learning and for those teachers who want to learn how to create innovative learning content and who want to network with like-minded peers.
Learning objectives of the course:
enhance standard educational materials with creative tools and applications
implement the design thinking process in their teaching practices
design their own learning materials for flipping the classroom
create digital storytelling activities
gamify classroom activities
use emerging technologies (AR, VR, QR codes) to create activities for interdisciplinary learning
use social media for teaching and professional development
learn how to curate digital content.
The first day, after some ice breaking activities, we got familiar with the Future Classroom lab learning zones. After that we started working on our Community Learning Platform (Schoology.com) and had a view on the Summer Academy Blog. The Learning Community platform could be very useful for designing virtual classrooms. The blog, on the other hand, complements the virtual classroom and is a very enriching way to disseminate the results in the rest of the educational community.
We were aware of the differences between our traditional classroom and the classroom of the future. If we want the student to be the builders of his own learning, they have to work in a collaborative and creative way so we have to design innovative spaces and make posible flexible learning among them, which involves organizing our classroom differently.
At the same time, with the creative challenges of the day, we could encourage active learning among the students. We performed several "treasure hunts" with ICT tools in a collaborative way: Gif creator, how to create a Scavenger Hunt, Space Race, B- selfies, etc. Exciting and highly motivating.
During the first day I also presented my two creative proposals: storytelling with wooden & virtual story-cubes , with the application Story Dice/ Story Cubes. Have a look at this link for more information about it: consaburuminternationaloffice.weebly.com/getting-out-of-my-confort-zone-innovation-corner/escritura-creativa-con-story-cubes-gamificacion
I introduced the ICT tool "Fakebook", from classtools.net too. It consists of an app to create a personal profile on a similar page to Facebook of some relevant historical character, or even inanimate objects such as a bacterium, a cell, etc.

To celebrate the end of our first day, my colleagues Arrate (Vasque country ) and Educardo (Campo de Criptana School's Headmaster) joined me in a stroll around Brussels. We had fries, street music and also we paid a visit to Ms. Janneke Pis. Not as famous as her male fellow but quite funny indeed!
I honestly believe that an Europe without boundaries is possible. Borders and passports must be something from the past. In more than half a century of existence, the EU has delivered peace between its members and prosperity for its citizens. It has created a single European currency (the euro) and a borders- free "single- market" where goods, people and money move around freely. It has become one of the major trading power.
The main aims of the EU are:
To raise the quality of life for its citizens, through social development
To improve the economic position of its citizens, companies and countries by economic co- operation
To promote common foreign and security policies
The countries (member states) that make EU remain independent nations, but they pool theis power in order to gain a strengh and world influence none of them could have on their own. And that it's exactly the reason why I believe with all my heart that:
The job of the European Commission is to propose new regulations or rules for the EU and to make sure that EU laws are implemented. The EC seeks to uphold the interests of the Union as a whole. The rules and procedures that the institutions must follow are laid down in the agreements which the members states' presidents and prime ministers have accepted and have been agrred by their parlaments. In principle, it is the European Commission that proposes new EU laws, but it is the European Parlament and the Council of the EU that adops them.
The majority of Spanish trade is done with other member states, so the goods we buy in our shops come from the EU. We also have freedom to travel freely and to live and work in any of the countries of the EU. many areas of our lives are covered by European laws, in particular such areas as business, agriculture, the environment, discrimination and civil liberties.
All the member states' citizens not only have a enriching diversity but also share a common European culture and history background, which roots in ancient times. We all are a cultural comunity with a strong European identity. I'm very proud of being European. I really have that feeling of belonging. And that its exactly what I'm doing here, in Brussels. I'm taking part in a workshop about Creativity and Innovation in the classroom with other Spanish colleagues and other colleagues from other 8 countries in the Future Classroom Lab of the European Schoolnet Academy. A great privilege and a huge responsability because I'm here to spread the experience when I come back to Spain. We all together will be here for a few days sharing, learning and making Europe to grow as we're going to grow as creative teachers in the Future Classroom Lab .
First thing in the afternoon. A warm welcoming with the traditional Belgium fries. The food in Brussels is really good: mussels, fries, soups, Belgium chocolate, Belgium beer, eco-food ...All Delicious!
